Welcome to adaptABLE Occupational Therapy

At adaptABLE Occupational Therapy, we strive to help children develop the skills they need to succeed at home and at school. Sessions are play-based and a client-centered approach is used to tailor each treatment session for the specific needs of your child.

We see many children for a variety of reasons and we strongly believe in finding the root of the problem rather than just a band-aid solution. We consider what may be occurring on a neurological level and suggest ways to re-organize the nervous system. This can result in improved regulation, motor skills (gross and fine motor), language skills, and social skills, to name a few.

What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?

Occupational Therapists (OTs) work with all ages for all kinds of reasons. In general, we assist our clients in achieving their functional goals by overcoming physical, mental or cognitive issues. This can be done through remediation, adaptation or compensation.

Pediatric Occupational Therapists help children develop the skills they need to grow into functional, independent adults.

Kids with these medical conditions might benefit from OT:

  • Birth defects/traumatic birth history

  • Autism

  • ADHD

  • Sensory processing disorder

  • Learning disabilities

  • Behavioural problems

  • Developmental delays

  • Spina bifida

  • Cerebal Palsy

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder

  • Burns
